About

Made for curious little minds

The Feeling Detectives brings together play, creativity, curiosity and gentle emotional learning in interactive experiences children actually want to come back to.

What we make

Interactive tap-to-colour web adventures, printable resources and PDFs, books, and gentle emotional wellbeing activities. Everything plays in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer — there is nothing to install.

Detective Dot and her curious cat companion Marmalade lead the way, helping children notice clues, explore feelings, solve little mysteries and discover what might help.

Meet the creator

Hi, I’m Sharon

I created The Feeling Detectives to help children understand their feelings in a way that feels safe, playful and easy to explore.

I’m a qualified social worker with a Master’s in Counselling, and I’ve spent many years supporting children, young people and families across mental health, care and therapeutic settings.

One thing I’ve seen again and again is that children often experience a feeling in their body long before they have the words to explain what is happening.

That’s why The Feeling Detectives is built around curiosity rather than getting feelings “right”.

Through Detective Dot, Marmalade and our interactive activities, children can notice clues, explore emotions, practise simple coping strategies and learn that every feeling has something to tell us.

My aim is simple: to create resources that children enjoy using and that give parents and carers an easier way to start important conversations.
